Cancer CAREpoint is dedicated to transforming support for cancer patients, families and caregivers in Silicon Valley through personalized, one-on-one Counseling, Assistance, Resources and Education.
In March 2012, the Cancer CAREpoint Resource Center opened in San Jose to provide a convenient, welcoming place for individuals and their families, caregivers and survivors to come for help through the cancer journey. Here you can meet one-on-one for free private consultations, attend educational programs, receive therapies, and find more information about cancer, treatments and side effects, prevention and support groups. We are excited to extend our services to East San Jose in 2016. In partnership with St. John Vianney, Our Lady of Guadalupe and the East Side YMCA, we have developed focus groups at each site to discuss opportunities to introduce Cancer CAREpoint to the community and solicit information about the types of services most needed in the community.
Current programs include:
Our CARE model emphasizes Counseling, Assistance, Resources and Education. We are a starting “point” for the 6,500 people in our community who will be diagnosed with cancer this year alone. We are a central location where all cancer patients and their families can come for personalized non-clinical support – no matter their doctor, medical group, provider, insurer, or their financial resources.
People find out about us through physician referrals, community educational events, general publicity and social media. Strong cadres of committed and dedicated volunteers provide caring assistance and guidance. Cancer CAREpoint continues to appreciate the support from generous donors throughout the community.
