“Let the little children come to me….”
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Catechesis, knowing and living our faith, is more than just religious education, but rather, is a life-long journey of conversion. St. John Vianney’s goal is to bring children to Christ, to prepare them for the sacramental life of the church, and to help them understand the social justice implications of discipleship and mercy, as we integrate prayer into their lives.

Faith Formation is a continuing program offered to children in grades 1st - 8th. Registrations are open all year long. Saint John Vianney offers programs in English and Spanish, each meeting separately once a week, yet at the same time, Sessions are Monday's 7 - 8:30 pm. In order to register a copy of the child’s Baptism/Birth certificate is required at the time of registration. Registration Form for English Faith Formation is available at on the Forms page.
One year of religious education formation is required before your child can be included in the sacrament preparation process. Preparing for First Eucharist is a very special time for your child. Our sacramental preparation is considered to be a “family program” and is designed to take place “in the midst of the community of the faithful.”
Baptism Preparation
It is the job and the joy of St. John Vianney Parish to prepare and initiate its children into the Eucharistic life of the Church through our weekly celebration of the Mass. For this reason it is vital that the children and their families participate at Mass on a weekly basis.
High School Youth Ministry and Confirmation Preparation
All High School students (grades 9-12) are invited to participate in the SJV Youth Ministry Program on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8 PM in the Community Center. Our goal is to build young disciples of Christ through youth ministry in areas of community building, worship, outreach, and education while developing a spiritual journey for each individual student.
